'Mind' is a wonderful gift
,++++++++++++++
'Mind' is a wonderful gift given to man by God. From childhood to youth, man develops physically and mentally. But in the journey towards old age, the senses of the body start to weaken. Only the mind does not lose its youth. Therefore, it is possible to keep the mind healthy without any external help, only by one's own efforts, until the last breath of life. It is also necessary for a happy and peaceful old age.
Since the weakening of the senses is a natural process, physical health cannot be maintained forever even with a million remedies. Natural (pranayama, yoga, meditation etc.) and medical (medicines, surgery etc.) treatments do help a little, but the weakening of the senses cannot be stopped forever. Only a healthy mind can help us at the time of need. If the mind is healthy, the weakening of the senses can be accepted and faced easily and the rest of life can be made happy and peaceful. With proper coordination of a healthy mind with an old body, it becomes easy to live even with weak senses.
Let us look at some examples of this
Food is very necessary for sustaining life. To make the act of eating food palatable, additional elements like sugar, salt, chilli and pepper-spices are added to it. It is not that these elements are completely useless, but their need is very small. When they are overused for taste. In youth, the strong senses also accept it.
But with the advent of old age, the five senses become weak and cannot tolerate this excess. However, since the mind has become accustomed to taste, its demand does not decrease. The need for food remains. At this time, proper regulation of diet can be done only by a healthy mind.
This is an example of diet. The same is true of pilgrimage. When a person who did physical adventurous activities in the field of sports in his youth starts his old age, his physical capacity is not as good as before. At that time, if the mind remains healthy
If a person accepts physical weakness, he can redirect his own activity in the right direction and, instead of doing the activity himself, guide other capable people through his knowledge and get the same pleasure as doing the activity.
We have seen in life that when a disciple succeeds, the joy that the Guru gets is much less than the joy that comes from the activity. But if that person cannot change the direction of the activity, then the internal conflict caused by the hindrance in the activity through the weak senses bothers him a lot.
The above examples also give us an understanding of what a healthy mind is. The mind that changes, does not remain rigid in the situation, evaluates the situation correctly and makes it adapt to it.
With a little awareness and effort, we can also keep the mind healthy. It is a bit of a necessity, but not impossible. So let us start training our minds to be healthy from today itself and enjoy old age carefree.
